Posterboard Frame Note Board

I made these for a friend's daughter.  They were Christmas presents for her friends.  You start with inexpensive poasterboard frames.  Using scrapbook paper, I personalized them to match each girl's room.  The final step (not in picture) is to connect an Expo marker to it using a decorative matching ribbon.  The posterboard frames are plastic, so the wipeoff marker is fantastic to write notes, then wipe it right off!

T-shirt With my Gypsy & Cricut

I cut the design from fabric using my Gypsy & Cricut.  It is a spirit shirt for the school where I teach.  I get tired of the same old t-shirts, so I decided to venture out and try out my own design.  I posted it on my Scrappy Chic Teacher for obvious reasons :)  Check it out if you are interested in how I did it!  Click Here.

Mo Mo's Tues. Challenge...A Girly Affair

This is my submission for MoMo's Challenge.  I used the owl from the Create a Critter cart. I also used some other precious cuts from the same cartridge such as the matching branch and the moon and sentiment from pg. 71 of the handbook. I used turquoise ink to dob around the edges of the moon. I used a heart punch from the Paper Studio, and the flowers were punched with my Stampin' Up Big Shot Die, Baskets and Blooms. I used a 16x20 canvas and decoupaged it using Modge Podge. When using Modge Podge, the more the better! I usually cover the area where I am going to place my paper, cover the back of the paper, then once placed, paint over the paper. You also need to add each layer separate and allow to somewhat dry in between layers.  I actually had to use my 12 x 24 Cricut mat for the first time...very exciting!  I think it turned out sweet and it was fun to make.

Throwback Thursday Challenge 58 with Emma

Inspired by the shutter card that Dorcus made at 4 Crafty Angels and my sweet friend who just had a baby, I created this card.  My friend's little girl seems to have her days and nights mixed up.  Not to mention, she also has a 2 year old little guy who wakes her up at 7am.
Emma's Throwback Thursday challenge was to use the cartridge "New Arrival" or any other older cartridge.  Well, I do not have the "New Arrival" cart, but I tried to keep with the feeling of the "New Arrival" Cartridge.
The baby was cut from "Everyday Paperdolls", The carriage, moon, frame, and clouds (I did use my Gypsy to combine 2 clouds for the front) all came from "Potpourri".  With the exception of the Sweet Dreams  the words are from "Alphalicious."  I can't wait to mail this off to my friend!

Potty Training Blues!

I am in the middle of potty training (ha, ha) my 2 year old, so we are stuck at home for the next few days. I decided to make a couple of cards using some pre-made boxes of cards. First, I made a baby boy card using a DCWV card. I found some old printed papers which were probably Creative Memories if you remember them. I used a cute Stampin' Up stamp set for the card & envelope. I just LOVE the precious little feet that I used to adorn the front of the envelope and I thought the ducky safety pin was perfect for the flap. I used my Stampin' Up punch to cut a scalloped square for my "It's A BOY!" stamp which I attached using a K & Co. brad. I added a little bit of sparkle to the corners using Baby Blue Stickles.

I am participating in my second Throwback Thursday Challenge for Emma at My Creative Time.  The challenge is to use the cart "Doodlecharms" to create a scrapbook page.  I was inspired by my two precious little boys sleeping. I always call them my snug bugs!  I used "Doodlecharms" for the bugs and heart.  "Makin' the Grade" was used for the wording.  The paper was CTMH as well as some old miscellaneous paper that I found this weekend while attempting to organize my crafting space.  Hope Emma & my snug bugs like it!

Father's Day Continued

I also wanted to share something else that I added to my husband's basket. He is an avid outdoorsman. He loves to go to Cabela's, Gander Mountain, and of course...Bass Pro Shops. The nearest Bass Pro Shop is a couple of hours away in Katy, TX. We are overdue for a day trip there. I got him a couple of gift cards to add to his basket, then I made a "ticket" for a day trip to Bass Pro Shops on my computer. I thought it was cute; I hope he likes it.

Happy Father's Day!

I decided to add a little home-made lovin' to my Father's Day gifts. I got inexpensive plastic baskets, added yummies, individual gifts, and personalized them for each Dad in our lives. They have everything from shirts to gift cards to radar detectors in them. I think that the Dads will like them! I used my Gypsy to incorporate a range of cartridges such as Jubilee, Gypsy wanderings, and Gypsy Font. I added dowel rods with the sayings "You Rock" and "You're the Best." Check out my album to see the other pics.

First Ever Challenge!

Well...here is an entry for my first contest ever! Emma at My Creative Time had a Throwback Thursday Challenge using the Cricut cart "Stretch Your Imagination" and the colors blue, red, and brown. I never even noticed this cute chick before. I like how the card turned out! I had my girlfriends at work in mind when I created it. Now...let's see who will get it!

hi

I am starting this blog as a means to catalogue my creations. I am a mother of 2 little boys and a wife to a wonderful guy. When my boys allow me, I love to make things for the special people in my life.
